Jigs and More

Jigs are a vital part of woodworking. Now, Im not saying that you can’t get the same job done without the jig but if you are doing that job a lot and want repeatability and speed then a Jig is the way.

I opted to go with Kreg for a lot of my jigs but there are other very popular brands out there.

Turn your circular saw into a mini mitre saw. Or at least manage to get square cuts with it on certain sized stock. This is the best beginner jig I bought.

Speed and precision. This Kreg Jig 720 is perfect for hooking plywood boards of all sizes together. It only has one really flaw and that it that it can’t get into tight spaces. Thats what its friend to the right is for.

I panned this a little in an early video but I have kept it around to get into small spaces and for its versatility. The quality of hole is not up to the Kreg 720s quality but I still use it a lot.

When making your own jigs, these and a big of t-track go a long way. It’s easier than you think when you have the right gear. See the video of making a router table and the fence improvement.

This exact track is what my router table fence runs on and it has not let me down at all.
